bastiaan jongerius architects (since 1996) wants to contribute to the realization of enjoyable and useful buildings.
the team gives content to the design process and the construction process, from the first sketch to the completion.
with unwavering commitment and dedication we try to discover the specific backgrounds of each project and we try to respond to what concerns us. these are a multitude of diverse topics, from the story of a passer-by at the location till engineering a material application. with research and study we explore the (im) possibilities and feed the design with a theme or a layering of themes. bastiaan jongerius architects we consider as a think tank for the realization of enjoyable and useful buildings.
we work on the scale of the city, the landscape, the public outside space, the building and the interior. on each project the different scale levels and the transitions are important. the area of the individual is the interior, the building the house of the interior. the facade gives expression to the building and is the face to the public space. vice versa is the space around the building an inspiration for the building.
in the design/construction process we strive for an integrated way of working with a balance between the program, the design, the physical making of the building and the appearance.
we are working in a design/construction team with a composition of a (project) architect, a project leader and the specialists in the field of construction engineering, installation design and construction economy, depending on the contents of a project. the interaction of these disciplines leads to innovative and sustainable solutions based on the knowledge and creativity of the team.
to the projects include urban plans, housing, commercial buildings and renovations. the clients are municipalities, corporations, companies and (collectively) individuals.
